The POA was informed late yesterday afternoon that the City will be required to make changes to the current comp time program due to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations. It is our understanding that it is not the intention of the City to eliminate the comp time program. Effective January 1, 2019, the program will be suspended and all overtime will be credited as a cash payout. The POA and other City labor groups will be working through the meet and confer process to find the best resolution for our members. All comp time earned prior to January 1, 2019 will be honored per the current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Once a resolution is reached and comp time is reinstated, the POA will notify the membership.
Additionally, any employees who signed up for the new Pay-in-Lieu option will have the ability to modify their selections, if needed.
